Essays on Learning to Trust Myself to Stop Doing the Things I Hate.
"When I'm listening to my own voice, things seem to unfold in my favor."
Lauren Schwarzfeld chronicles her adventures (misadventures?) as she navigates life, on a mission to be less cranky and stop "doing the things she hates".
Part memoir, part personal manifesto, Unboxed is a journey of shedding expectations - yours and everyone else's - in pursuit of redefining life on your own terms.
Life, marriage, relationships, parenting, career, adventure, you get to decide what brings you joy and how to curate a life of possibilities. You get to make the rules and ask for what you need along the way.. and always try to have some fun!
This book is a love letter of sorts to those feeling discouraged with themselves, wondering why they don't fit in or why they aren't quite right when everything seems to align. It's a reminder that one version of greatness and success isn't the dream. It's encouragement to pivot and course-correct and change your mind. It's a whisper or a scream, reminding you that you know who you and what you want and sometimes you just forget. It's a gentle nudge back towards yourself, whatever that means to YOU!
“I don’t know what I think until I write it down.”
